Feel Good Food

Feel Good Food

What does that mean to you?

Do you conjure up images of Thanksgiving dinner or thoughts of 'comfort foods'? Brownies? Chips? Something your mom or Grandma use to make? Traditionally these items consisted of fatty, sugary, heavier, not so “healthy” foods. Even though those foods may taste yummy they often leave us feeling not so good in the long run.

What if we redefined this notion of Feel Good Food to literally match those words: FEEL GOOD. Meaning, foods that aid in bringing about Truly feeling good within your being when eaten. And, maybe even more precisely, foods that promote Truly feeling good even after eating.

Before each encounter with food ask yourself what you honestly wish to experience by engaging in this action? - No judgement required here - Then decide how you wish to proceed. Be truthful with yourself; you may be amazed with your own response.

Are you wishing to fill an emotional void by eating certain things that release specific chemicals within your brain that produce feelings of euphoria? Are you avoiding certain foods or not eating at all because you hold beliefs that may be outdated or possibly no longer serve you at this time? Do you eat particular foods with the belief that utilizing specific nutrients aid in biological repair or healing? Or, is food a means by which you stay connected to earthly physical life?
What is the purpose? Are you aware of one?

Your intention is your choice. Choose the type of information and energy exchange that supports your desire. Allow this to be an opportunity to discover more about you.
No judgment needed J.

Viewing food as information and being aware with each meal of what type of conversation we are about to chemically and energetically enter into is critical if we wish to experience a vibrant, empowered, self-directed life.

Reevaluating some of our definitions and even traditions around food and consciously choosing to become more aligned with our true and current intentions produces an opening for a happier, healthier experience.

If you want to feel good, figure out what helps support that feeling for you. Then go for it!

Love what you are bringing to the table!
